Our colo-provider at NL1 performed network infrastructure upgrades tonight, to address the network outages that occurred last weekend.

The announcement:

Due to the network problems that occurred last weekend, we are forced to perform emergency maintenance tonight.
The current routers no longer offer our network the stability we require. That is why we made the choice in November 2021 to order new routers and make the switch from Brocade to Juniper.

Due to the persistent delivery problems, we were unfortunately unable to get ahead of this weekend's problems. The routers have just arrived and given the differences in configuration due to the switch to another vendor, it was not feasible to plan this earlier.
Since we currently have reduced redundancy due to the shutdown of one of our routers this weekend, we are forced to accelerate this implementation.

That is why we will perform various actions tonight (5-4-2022) between 20:00 and 03:00 CEST. This can result in short interruptions of up to 5 minutes. Of course we try to keep interruptions to a minimum, but because we are moving our internet carriers one by one, BGP route convergence will occur.
